Brainfoods”: Modulating Brain Structure and Function

There is a paucity of hard evidence on the real impact of foods on brain function. This arises principally from the lack of in vivo biomarkers which would allow objective assessment of gene-environment interaction associated with brain function. Through the use of MRI/MRS techniques we are developing new strategies to assess brain structure and function, which have opened up the possibility to directly assess the modulation of brain activation in vivo, including those associated with appetite control and satiety.
